Midway Drive-In Theatre

2022: Week 15

Playing August 12 - 18

As always, OUR LOW TICKET PRICE COVERS ALL THE MOVIES IN AN EVENING, and you may enter and exit at the times of your choosing. (Entrance fee is the same, regardless of time of arrival.) Gates open at 7PM on Fridays & Saturdays, and at 7:30PM on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We accept cash, cards, and smartphone pay.

We're trying something new this week, and who knows? We have a ton of fans who love scary movies. So if we get a decent response we might make SUMMERTIME SCARE-A-THON an annual event, just like our HORRORFEST (that Big John inaugurated many years ago) that closes every season at the Midway. There will be FOUR spooky or disturbing movies on Friday and Saturday, a triple-feature on Sunday, and double features on both Wednesday and Thursday. (We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.) The snack bar will remain open for two intermissions on Friday and Saturday. Our sincere apologies, open-captioning (OC) is not available on most retro titles, so we won’t be including them in our usual OC Sunday show. However, captions will return on Sunday (8/21).

TIM BURTON'S CORPSE BRIDE from 2005 is an exquisite, groundbreaking, animated film that's entertaining and fun for folks of all ages. BUT, our R rated features this week are definitely NOT for children. They depict scenarios of rape, torture, and other brutalities. FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009) is a gory reboot of the 1980 original, except in this reimagining Jason himself (not his mother) is on the warpath. Stanley Kubrick's unnerving 1971 masterpiece A CLOCKWORK ORANGE coined the term ultraviolence. And ORPHAN (2009) is a deeply-disturbing foray into the unthinkable, starring Vera Farmiga of THE CONJURING franchise.

We hope you can come get creeped out with us, this week!

(While we strive to provide you with as much accuracy as possible with future bookings, in very rare situations movies and dates are subject to change.) Thank you so much!
